I receive more speaking requests than I am able to accept and my availability for new engagements is limited. Early inquiries are encouraged. If I am unavailable to speak at your event, I will gladly provide you with recommendations for excellent alternative speakers.
I am always honoured when I am approached by an institution or organization that wishes to draw on my expertise. I frequently speak on topics such as open educational practices, ethical approaches to educational technology, inclusive teaching, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and the psychology of good and evil.
The form below includes questions about the expected audience (e.g., composition & size), whether you would also like me to facilitate a hands-on workshop or engage in discussions with any campus stakeholders (e.g., executives, library, bookstore, student association, etc.) during my visit, and what your budget is for a speaker fee.

If I am traveling to your event I will bring my own laptop computer, clicker, and adapter (HDMI & VGA). I will require an LCD projector and prefer a lavalier microphone, if available.
If this is a virtual event, please provide information about the technology setup and the time required for testing. Knowing which platform will be used for the event (e.g., Zoom meeting, Zoom webinar, Microsoft Teams, etc.) will help me plan for the interactivity afforded by the chosen platform.
Please also provide information about how you plan to make the event accessible (e.g., live captioning).
If you plan to use a hashtag for your event I would appreciate knowing this in advance so I can incorporate it into my slides and promotional posts.

Dr. Rajiv Jhangiani is the Vice Provost, Teaching and Learning at Brock University in Ontario, Canada, where he is a Full Professor of Educational Studies with a cross-appointment in Psychology, directs the Inclusive Education Research Lab, and is affiliated with the Social Justice Research Institute and the Social Justice and Equity Studies program. A global leader in open education and an award-winning educator, his scholarship focuses on open educational practices, student-centered pedagogies, and ethical approaches to educational technology. Dr. Jhangiani has advised the British Columbia Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills on its Digital Learning Strategy, Micro-credential Framework, and Ethical Educational Technology Toolkit. He formerly served as an Ambassador for the Global Advocacy of OER with the International Council for Open and Distance Education and currently serves on the Boards of the Canadian Digital Learning Research Association and Open Education Global.

His publications include numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, three open textbooks in Psychology, and two co-edited volumes, Open: The Philosophy and Practices that are Revolutionizing Education and Science and Open at the Margins: Critical Perspectives on Open Education. Together with Dr. Robin DeRosa, he is a co-founder of the Open Pedagogy Notebook.
Dr. Jhangiani is a recipient of the Robert E. Knox Master Teacher Award from the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia, the Dean of Arts Teaching Excellence award at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, the Award for Excellence in Open Education from BCcampus, and the Emerging Leader Award from Open Education Global. He has worked with post-secondary institutions across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia to help develop their capacity to support open educational practices and has advised the British Columbia Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills on its Digital Learning Strategy, Micro-credential Framework, and Ethical Educational Technology Toolkit. Dr. Jhangiani was invited to speak at OpenCon United Nations in 2018 about how open education supports the sustainable development goals and served as an Ambassador for the Global Advocacy of Open Educational Resources with the International Council for Open and Distance Education in 2020. He served as a Visiting Distinguished Teaching Scholar at Trent University in 2023 and a Visiting Scholar at Dublin City University and Munster Technological University in 2025. In 2026, EdTech magazine listed him as a “change maker,” among 25 higher ed influencers to follow in 2026. Dr. Jhangiani currently serves on the Boards of the Canadian Digital Learning Research Association and Open Education Global.
