I receive more speaking requests than I am able to accept and my availability for new engagements is limited. Early inquiries are encouraged. If I am unavailable to speak at your event, I will gladly provide you with recommendations for excellent alternative speakers.
I am always honoured when I am approached by an institution or organization that wishes to draw on my expertise. I frequently speak on topics such as open educational practices, ethical approaches to educational technology, inclusive teaching, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and the psychology of good and evil.

If I am traveling to your event I will bring my own laptop computer, clicker, and adapter (HDMI & VGA). I will require an LCD projector and prefer a lavalier microphone, if available.
If this is a virtual event, please provide information about the technology setup and the time required for testing. Knowing which platform will be used for the event (e.g., Zoom meeting, Zoom webinar, Microsoft Teams, etc.) will help me plan for the interactivity afforded by the chosen platform.
Please also provide information about how you plan to make the event accessible (e.g., live captioning).
If you plan to use a hashtag for your event I would appreciate knowing this in advance so I can incorporate it into my slides and promotional posts.

Dr. Rajiv Jhangiani is Vice Provost, Teaching and Learning at Brock University in Ontario, Canada, where he is a Full Professor of Educational Studies with a cross-appointment in Psychology and directs the Inclusive Education Research Lab. An award-winning educator and internationally recognized leader in open education, his work focuses on open educational practices, student-centred pedagogies, assessment, and ethical approaches to educational technology and artificial intelligence.
The architect of Canada’s first zero textbook cost degree programs, Dr. Jhangiani has delivered keynotes and workshops and collaborated with educators and institutions across North America, Europe, Africa, South Asia, the Middle East, and Australia. He has served as a Distinguished Visiting Teaching Scholar at Trent University in Canada and as a Visiting Scholar at Munster Technological University and Dublin City University in Ireland. He has advised the British Columbia government on digital learning, micro-credentials, and ethical educational technology, and contributed to sector-wide work on open educational practices in Ireland. He previously served as an Ambassador for the Global Advocacy of OER with the International Council for Open and Distance Education and on the Board of Open Education Global. He is incoming Board Chair of the Canadian Digital Learning Research Association.

His scholarship has been supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and includes numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, open psychology textbooks, and co-edited volumes, including Open: The Philosophy and Practices that are Revolutionizing Education and Science and Open at the Margins: Critical Perspectives on Open Education. Together with Dr. Robin DeRosa, he co-founded the Open Pedagogy Notebook.
Dr. Jhangiani has delivered keynotes and workshops and collaborated with educators and institutions across North America, Europe, Africa, South Asia, the Middle East, and Australia. His invited addresses include those at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning in Botswana, the OER24 conference in Ireland, the Open University of Sri Lanka’s International Research Sessions, and the Open Textbook Forum at RMIT University in Australia. His international work combines scholarly collaboration and institutional capacity-building to advance open and inclusive educational practices.
He has served as a Distinguished Visiting Teaching Scholar at Trent University in Canada and as a Visiting Scholar at Munster Technological University and Dublin City University in Ireland. He co-authored a sectoral white paper on open educational practices for Ireland’s European Union-funded N-TUTORR project and has advised the British Columbia Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills on its Digital Learning Strategy, Micro-credential Framework, and Ethical Educational Technology Toolkit.
Dr. Jhangiani’s honours include the Robert E. Knox Master Teacher Award from the University of British Columbia’s Department of Psychology, the Dean of Arts Teaching Excellence Award from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, BCcampus’s Award for Excellence in Open Education, and Open Education Global’s Emerging Leader Award. Business in Vancouver named him one of British Columbia’s ten leaders in higher education in 2021 and 2022, and EdTech magazine named him among its 25 higher education influencers to follow in 2026.
He previously served as an Ambassador for the Global Advocacy of OER with the International Council for Open and Distance Education, supporting implementation of the UNESCO Recommendation on OER, and on the Board of Open Education Global. He is incoming Board Chair of the Canadian Digital Learning Research Association.
