Note: In support of a more harmonious life-work balance, I am only accepting a small number of invitations each year to give keynotes or invited talks. If I am unable to accept your invitation I will gladly provide you with recommendations for excellent alternative speakers.
I am always honoured when I am approached by an institution or organization that wishes to draw on my expertise. I frequently speak on topics such as open educational practices, ethical approaches to educational technology, inclusive teaching, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and the psychology of good and evil.
Please use this webform if you would like to inquire about my availability for an event. The form includes questions about the expected audience (e.g., composition & size), whether you would also like me to facilitate a hands-on workshop or engage in discussions with any campus stakeholders (e.g., executives, library, bookstore, student association, etc.) during my visit, and what your budget is for a speaker fee.
As an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, I would also appreciate information about the diversity among the planned invited speakers at your event (if there is to be more than one). Please note that while I will not consent to participate on a “manel” or in a series that is otherwise not inclusive, I will happily provide you with a long list of gifted speakers whose presence would greatly enhance any event.
Technology
If I am traveling to your event I will bring my own laptop computer, clicker, and adapter (HDMI & VGA). I will require an LCD projector and prefer a lavalier microphone, if available.
If this a virtual event please provide information about the technology setup and the time required for testing. Knowing which platform will be used for the event (e.g., Zoom meeting, Zoom webinar, Microsoft Teams, etc.) will help me plan for the interactivity afforded by the chosen platform.
Please also provide information about how you plan to make the event accessible (e.g., live captioning).
If you plan to use a hashtag for your event I would appreciate knowing this in advance so I can incorporate it into my slides and promotional posts.

Bio
Dr. Rajiv Jhangiani is the Vice Provost, Teaching and Learning at Brock University in Ontario, Canada, where he holds faculty appointments in the Departments of Educational Studies and Psychology, directs the Inclusive Education Research Lab, and is affiliated with the Social Justice Research Institute and the Social Justice and Equity Studies MA program. The architect of Canada’s first zero textbook cost degree programs, his scholarship is supported by the Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council of Canada and focuses on open educational practices, student-centered pedagogies, and ethical approaches to educational technology. His publications include numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, three open textbooks in Psychology, and two co-edited volumes, Open: The Philosophy and Practices that are Revolutionizing Education and Science and Open at the Margins: Critical Perspectives on Open Education. Together with Dr. Robin DeRosa, he is a co-founder of the Open Pedagogy Notebook.
Dr. Jhangiani is a recipient of the Robert E. Knox Master Teacher Award from the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia, the Dean of Arts Teaching Excellence award at KPU, the Award for Excellence in Open Education from BCcampus, and the Emerging Leader Award from Open Education Global. Dr. Jhangiani has worked with post-secondary institutions across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia to help develop their capacity to support open educational practices. In 2020 he served as an Ambassador for the Global Advocacy of Open Educational Resources with the International Council for Open and Distance Education and in 2018 he was invited to speak at OpenCon United Nations about how open education supports the sustainable development goals. Dr. Jhangiani serves on the Board of Directors of Open Education Global and on the British Columbia Ethical Educational Technologies Working Group. In 2023, he is a Visiting Distinguished Teaching Scholar at Trent University.
